The Sultan’s Tent – Toronto, Canada – Restaurant Review

I’m not a foodie, and I never intended for this blog to become a place where I would post reviews of restaurants I’ve patronised, but every now and then I come across a food experience which is so absolutely exceptionally good or bad that I feel compelled to write about it.

This is, unfortunately, a post on the latter and specifically my experience eating at The Sultan’s Tent in Toronto, Canada. The restaurant’s website can be found here:

If I could choose a rating that was less than zero for the service, I would. Three hours to eat an average tasting meal and then charge 3 times what it is worth? Thanks and fuck you, Sultan’s Tent. Squatting naked over an open flame would have been a more pleasant experience than going to this place.

It’s surprising how phenomenally poor service can affect all aspects of the dining experience. The restaurant décor and atmosphere is charming, but the food is middling at best and the premium price made me feel like I was not getting good value for money. By the end of the evening I was absolutely seething at the restaurant because I had to kick out hard earned cash for one of the worst food experiences of my life.
